The part of this article I found most interesting was the observation that notarizing documents was really to highlight the importance and binding nature of the documents to the signer and to emphasize the possible ramifications of lying rather than officially validating anything since it was so easily faked…  but with digital signing it can be an actual authentication method.  That’s an upgrade for your product [notarizing] for sure!

Thieves generally don’t bother breaking into companies looking for data, CNN says.  They get it in more plebean ways.  An interesting synopsis of topics already covered in technical publications, to have it written up by a higher-profile media organization might get more traction
towards solving the issue… at least I can hope.
