So it appears the idea of software as a service is getting more traction and acceptance, which is interesting when you start to take it to further conclusions… like will computers in general go poof and be managed from a big central repository? I’m pondering a move of some of my dev machines to Ubuntu since it is getting such favorable press and seems to have a fast-out-of-the-gate goal, which is the one issue I had with Sarge/Sid. It’s darn hard to get consensus on anything, and with releases waiting can really slow you down…

So now we find out that current information workers get work done in 11 minutes but that it takes three different attempts to complete the task (of average three minutes each) because of interruptions… and businessfolks wonder why we can never get anything done?

Now that my working life has devolved into all-meetings-all-the-time, even my interruptions are interrupted by people who need answers now. Whatever happened to planning ahead? Oh right, that’s what the meetings are for…

sigh…
